Artist Statement

    Many things in this life have inspired me, whether it be a memorable hike or a passing advertisement, I strive to find the art in everything. Currently my favourite artistic themes to draw from range from superheros all the way to horror. I work to find elements from my interests that I can stitch together to create my own unique style. I love anything that involves the absurd, the weird, and the unique.

    Growing up I was surrounded by film and the internet, which greatly impacted me as I was not a very social child. I quickly became interested in horror and the supernatural and was fascinated by Tim Burton, which reflected in my more horror-based pieces. As I got older my love for the absurd remained and I began to find enjoyment in comic books, whether it be a webcomic, superheroes, or manga.

    I strive to surround myself with a wide range of artists who practice a wide variety of mediums, as I feel it helps inspire me to become more well rounded and well versed in the artistic sphere. When I was younger I poured all of my efforts into character design and illustration, which gave me a very limited perspective of the art industry when I reached university. After doing a general year in design studies I shifted my artistic practice to media arts, something where I would be able to incorporate all of my passions and expand my creative prowess.
